While nothing can take the place of a hands-on organizing session, Virtual Organizing (VO) is an excellent alternative. Rather than working with you at your home, we will work together using Zoom or FaceTime via your device. You still get the same support and guidance as you would with an in-person session.
How does it work?
We’ll start off with a complimentary 30-minute getting-to-know-you session during which we will discuss your organizing needs and goals, as well as answer any questions you may have about the organizing process. If we feel that we are a good fit to work together, then we will schedule our first work session.
What’s the difference of a VO experience and a hands-on experience?
The main difference with VO and hands-on organizing is the time we spend working together. A hands-on session can last from three to four hours, whereas a virtual session will last one hour. After we work for an hour, you take over and work at your own pace. We can meet again later in the day to get an update on your progress and answer any questions you may have. Or, if you feel confident working on your own, we can schedule a follow-up session for another day.
What are the two advantages of working virtually?
First, it is easier on your wallet than a hands-on session since we will only work together for one hour. Second, you only need to block one hour in your busy schedule for us to meet instead of setting aside a block of 3 to 4 hours
Is Virtual Organizing right for you?
If you are self-motivated and are able to continue working on your own, then you are a great candidate for VO! We can schedule our work sessions as you need them.
If you are unsure about how to proceed on your own or have difficulty making decisions, working virtually can still work for you, we can schedule to meet more frequently. If you make a note of all the questions or dilemmas you have, we can meet again the same day for an additional session.
Since we will be working with Zoom or FaceTime, you should be comfortable using these services. A portable device such as a cell phone, tablet or laptop will be necessary for you to show me the spaces you want to organize. A strong Internet connection is also required so that we can communicate from any part of your home where we will be working.
